sigh, last day.... 9: 30 am meeting followed by one last lunch at a yummy vietnamese restaurant.... i had the most wonderful, super fun, spiritually upbuilding vacation EVER... it would have never happened without all of you who showed me lots of love!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!
First of all, thank you, victor and victoria, for all your hospitality and letting me stay with you guys all week, for negotiating bathroom time with me and letting me leave stuff all over the room, for letting me join you guys in family prayer!!! you guys are always so generous and kind to me every single year and i appreciate it sooooooo much!!! thank you, victoria (and andra!!!) for taking me souvenir shopping and picking up gift cards with me, and for letting me eat all the cookies n cream, and for letting me change plans all last minute and so i could be with everyone!!! you are soooo the sweetest hostess a girl could ever have!!!!
thank you, mr. will tran, for being my friend through all these years through thick and thin... i can't believe we've been friends for ten years!! thank you so much for letting me have your sweatshirt in the cave when it was FREEEEZING, even though i knew you were cold too, and for slowing down and walking with me when i couldn't hike as fast up to that waterfall!!! (hey man, you guys are all like six feet tall with long legs!!) i won't forget that whole conversation we had about friendships on the way up... thank you for encouraging me and listening to me and being there for me!!!! lol, and i will NEVER forget the look on your face when the showers were closed on tuesday night!!!!!! hahahaha!!! and then how on wednesday morning we were standing outside by the bathrooms, going "omg, ding mm suen ah, my back hurts and i want my bed!!!" i know we didn't get to go to "hoi nam gy faun" this time... but you can make me an instant noodle ANYTIME!!!!
thank you, bryan, for being such the ultimate goofball and making me laugh the entire trip!!! lol, i CANNOT believe you jumped into the frozen foods when noone was looking you are SOOOOOO crazy!!! i am STILL laughing thinking about all the silly things you did!!! whenever im down, im just gonna replay all our "yum cha" videos and think about how "vietnamese" you are!!! you da guhd one?!?!?!?! oh my guhdnet!!!! hahahaha!!! you're my favorite EMT, the best "dirty asian', and i learned quite alot about "safety" while i was with you guys!!!! hahahahaha!!!! i don't care what the guys say, i hope you always repeat funny stuff..... over and over and over and over.... cuz iiiiiiiiiiii will laugh!!!!! hee hee hee...
thank you, jon and justin, for including me in the batman plan, even though im from out of town and there were limited tickets!! i had an awesome time even though i couldn't sit next to jon, who had all the chinese snacks, hahaha!!! justin!!! thank you so much for hanging out with me at the CRACK of dawn that morning when i couldn't get in, and waiting with me, even though your mom was wondering where you were AND you had service at nine!!! you could have just left me there but you didn't, and that was really really cool!!!! thanks sooooooo much!!!!
dr. david lung!!!! i was soooooo happy to get face time in with you this trip!! i know you are always super busy! thank you so much for picking me up and taking me with you to your book study on saturday so we could have lunch, omg, and for bringing me coffee just the way i liked it!!!!! (yeah, cuz, umm... there's no way i would have been functioning at all for the revelation book at 8:30 am without my caffeine fix...no way.) i totally grew in respect for you watching you conduct and observing you managing the awkward silences.... lol, im glad i was able to support you... TWICE... must have been the coffee.... hee hee... now if only people wouldn't answer their cell phones right in the middle of a meeting!!!
thank you, mark, so so SO much, for throwing me a bbq on my last night there!! thank you for suggesting it, and then taking me to to costco and letting me get whatever i wanted, for pulling out all the spices and helping me marinate stuff, for grilling up everything for hours and hours, and for setting up the hot tub when it got cold, and for cleaning up everything "in five minutes" (just so you know.... i know you're SO lying cuz clean up NEVER takes five minutes...) i will never forget running in and out of your garage and kitchen with that shopping list in my hand and taking "inventory" with you, hahaha!! we were like "ready?!?!?! okay, GO!!!!" everyone was there and i got to spend quality time with all the friends... im so glad we didn't end up on a crowded beach... and it would never have worked out if it wasn't for your big heart and for your brotherly generosity. i loved it, thank you so much!!
last but not least....ah matt!!!!! fung chuen lok!!!! how do i even start? thank you... for planning out my whole trip, for packing me a blanket and pillow when i had no room, for being patient and waiting for me and driving me everywhere, every day, for staying up countless hours with me while i was being crazy and silly and a total girlie girl, for remembering my favorite chicken wings and my favorite milk tea at "siu yeh", for waking up and going to dim sum with me on three hours of sleep, for always taking care of the little things, for always reassuring me,
and letting me be super spoiled!!!!! you are the most "sy sum" ever, and if i went on it would take pages... you are totally appreciated, and i will never forget all the conversations we had on this vacation, and how you are always so supportive and tolerant of me!!!! who am i going to talk to in cantonese and be half "joong mun" half "ying mun" with now that im home?!?!?! who am i gonna "yum cha" and be goofy with?? ... like you said at the lake during camping,"in the new system, we'll have plenty of time...." to friends and all nighters and pink sunrises FOREVER......
thank you so much to everyone and to all the wonderful friends in southern cali who made this a fabulous trip for me, you all know who you are, even if i couldn't list everyone!!! i love and miss all of you already, and i can't wait to see all of you, chinese convention 2009!!!!! i will remember all of you in my prayers, and even though we're separated in the flesh for now, as long as we move forward together in spirit and in truth, we'll never be separated in heart.
